With the right software anyone can photo editing guru, eliminating red-eye, removing archdaily unsightly scars, and maybe add an image of Godzilla lurking in the background just for fun. But if you're unlucky archdaily enough to try to do the same in 3D you know how to clearly unsatisfactory archdaily that the experience can be. Maybe not for long. Thanks to NewScientist we just caught a glimpse of an October presentation made by Swiss engineers Joren van Baar and Wan-Yen Lo called "Stereoscopic 3D copy and paste." It is, basically, exactly what it sounds like, tools that define the different objects and aircraft on a stereoscopic image, similar to how you might have a form with the magic floating tool grabs, and then duplicate it and move that shape around both parts of the 3D images. The software handles re-create shadows, occlusion also automatically approach, and while the results are not perfect, especially if you try to change perspective or in part an object behind something archdaily transparent occlude, it is certainly important to try to do by hand.
